Guest Panel

Sara Qaed is Bahraini UK-based artist. She practices art via editorial caricatures, drawings, comics, videos, usable pieces, and things in between. Her daily caricatures focus on refugees, corruption, power, human existence, and contradictions. In 2019, Sara won the Ibn Rushd Prize for Freedom of Thought for caricature and Mahmoud Khuhail award for Editorial Cartoons. At the moment, Sara is running a participatory project for Basic Income Lab. She is also artist in residence at Helix Arts. Beside that she is publishing her cartoons continuously on social media as an open-ended graphic story.

Carlos Latuff is a political cartoonist and a friend of Palestinians. Hailing from Brazil, Carlos has been described by Allers in Menassat as `a one-man cartoon wrecking-ball when he hits the ink.’ In the last few years of penning sharp cartoons, he `has been alternatively praised and vilified in the press for his depictions of suffering’ in places like the Palestinian territories, Iraq, and the slums of Latin America.

Mohammad Sabaaneh is a Palestinian graphic artist living in Ramallah in the West Bank. He is the principal political cartoonist for Al-Hayat al-Jadida, the Palestinian Authority’s daily newspaper, and has published his work in many other newspapers around the Arab World. He is a member of the International Cartoon Movement as well as the VJ Movement for visual journalists around the globe. Sabaaneh’s work has been displayed in numerous collections and fairs in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, and he won third place in the Arab Caricature Contest in 2013. Sabaaneh has a BA in interior design and he currently works as an administrator at Arab American University’s Ramallah campus.
