Netanyahu’s Campaign Stop in DC! By Miko Peled

Anti-Israel-demonstration-8

Netanyahu’s campaign stop in Washington DC turned out to be a huge success. Hours and hours of coverage on CNN and the other networks, which showered him with praise and had his images plastered all over our television sets, and all for free, absolutely free! Nor could he have hoped or paid for better coverage in the printed media. For several days Netanyahu’s face graced the front pages of the major newspapers in America.

Thankfully the visit was filled with controversy, which only gave it more coverage and kept everyone in suspense till the final moment when he actually stepped into the house of representatives to address the join session, assembled to greet him like Cesar returning to Rome. Oh, yes, the President wasn’t happy, and Secretary of State Kerry was overseas in Europe somewhere posing for pictures with bearded men, Iranians I think. But who are they compared with the darling Netanyahu!

Sadly, the majority of the members of congress proved to be spineless, gutless and shameless having attended and clapped for Netanyahu. Kerry who went on with the negotiations, and the members of congress who actually showed backbone and did not attend the speech only made the President look smaller and weaker and they themselves irrelevant. Out of the entire House of Representatives only some sixty members chose to boycott this charade. One could barely notice the empty seats of those who stayed away in support of the President and human decency.

Now, returning home to Jerusalem like a conquerer who took Washington DC by storm and disgraced the President of the United States, Netanyahu can go on to do a little campaigning in his little province, Israel. In his absence all those who compete for his job bicker and fight among themselves looking like undisciplined children while returns like a hero.

House Speaker Boehner in collusion with CNN did Mr. Netanyahu a great service. The entire event was perfectly orchestrated, the interest peaked at the right time, the speech at AIPAC as well as that in the House of Representative were heard across the land and everyone else looked pathetic. The theme, “The Iran Threat” was perfect too. Americans eat this stuff like a good TV show. You got the good guys, (All Israelis and some Americans, not including the President who Netanyahu compared to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who capitulated to Hitler in Munich before WW-2), bad guys, (the Muslims, the Arabs – but only the ones we can’t bribe – the corrupt kings and other dictators we are able bribe are ok, and John Kerry) and us, the viewers.

Iran isn’t now nor was it ever a threat. Not to Israel, not to the U.S. If this story is reminiscent of the WMD in Iraq, it is because, well, it is the same story. Like a good TV commercial, it worked once, so it is likely to work again and again. Does Iran want to play a role in the region? Of course it does. It is a big, rich country with a rich history and much to offer. But a nuclear threat? Even Israeli intelligence agencies admit this is a myth. But boy it sure sells.

What made the latest Netanyahu-fest in DC even better was this: Not a word was said about the Palestinians. Not a word! Netanyahu came out of last summer’s murderous assault on Gaza as white as snow. Not a word about the cold blooded murder of over two thousand people in Gaza last summer. Nothing about the thousands of political prisoners, the children being terrorized by Israeli terror squads or the abject poverty in which Palestinians are forced to live. But as they say in Arabic, “Kuku Kalb Biji Youmo!” Every dog will have his day, and Netanyahu’s day will come when he is put on trial for his crimes.

  1. Not only didn’t they mention Gaza, but no one mentioned that only the President can invite another head of state to Congress. Why didn’t he just say no if he didn’t want Bibi to appear?

  2. Obama did say he was not happy with Netanyahu’s intentions but it did not make a difference. Similarly, Netanyahu was not invited to go to Paris and demonstrate with the “Je suis Charlie” crowd. He did muscle his way in nonetheless, managed to get himself in the first row after squarely ejecting an African head of state, and even gave an enflamed speech calling to the French of jewish confession to move to Israel as they cannot live safely in France!!! ( President Hollande made it a point to leave the premices just as Netanyahu began this speech, to signify his immense displeasure with the whole charade). Netanyahu also organized a state funeral in Jerusalem for the 4 French victims of the Kosher supermarket attack.Talk about milking an opportunity till its last drop…However, this arrogant behaviour was largely critized and mocked by the French media and public opinion and there certainly was no standing ovations for the bully.

When will America be able to see how mislaid and misguided it is in giving in to the bully? it is a pathetic sight indeed…

  3. There is another proverb in Arabic that applies to netanyaho “If you honored the generous you own them, and if you honored the mean they rebel”

  4. Miko, I strongly suspect this whole “controversy” is JUST FOR SHOW. Obama gets to look like he’s antagonistic towards Bibi (gaining some traction with the Arab petrostates, as well as the “Left” of his own party, who have more sympathy for Palestinians)…meanwhile, Israel still gets to function as a US Military satellite state and nobody has to do anything for the Palestinians. Status quo, but with the APPEARANCE of some sort of “democratic debate” to the willfully-blind in both the U.S. and Israel.

  5. It is surprising that Gaza was not mentioned. After all, is Gaza not also a great existential threat to Israel? Why else would it have been necessary to kill those murderous women and children?

  6. Surely, Miko, this was one of your best, most powerful blogs. I especially love Netanyahu campaigning in “his little province, Israel.”

Would that the American people in general were not so uninformed and so willing to buy lies about Iran or the Zionist lies.

  7. Miko, my deepest thank you from all who value unwinding the layers of pathology governing humanity, but speaking especially for the increasing number of Jews who are awakening and standing up to this insanity. With the invaluable help of your amazingly brave, clear and knowledgeable voice, truths are emerging. You are far more than greatly appreciated! Note: Those 50 seats you mentioned that ‘…one can barely notice”… didn’t exist. Those seats were filled with staffers and if you stop a frame and look carefully at the seating, there are no “empties”. Goebbels would be proud. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/02/11/1363815/-House-GOP-to-fill-empty-seats-with-staffers-to-ensure-standing-ovations-for-Netanyahu-speech

  8. All the initial faux negative press morphed into a glorious celebration of the acclaimed war criminal, leaving those of us who deplore the abuses of human rights wrought on the Palestinians, shaking in disgust at our elected (bought) officials. We must work harder.

  9. Thank you for your eloquent voice of truth! Such a travesty, this war criminal Netanyahu being applauded… “war is terrorism with a bigger budget” once again.

  10. Thank you Miko, Netanyahu is just the devil and any one with comon sense could not beleive Iran is or will be a threat to Israel, Israel has at least 200 nuclear weapons, but it is so terrible to see how few we are that think right….it is so sad. Thank you for your persistance…I would have thrown the towel already. But we now we are with the truth, goodness and justice. I am very sorry to say that Americans will always go for warmongering and killing as long as it is far away from home. It is in their spirit, you can see it in Palestine, Ukraine, Irak, Afganistan Siria, Libya etc etc, where there is war, killings and cover up operations there is the US hand.

  11. Excellent piece Miko. Thank you. There will be many Americans who will go to see the film Selma. They will applaud the bravery of MLK but will think themselves separated by time from the baddies (Governor Wallace and the Alabama police). But, apart from the fact that ethnic minorities in The States still struggle, they have a stark piece of Segregation in the 51st State they have in the Middle East. That’s Hollywood for you.

    Eyes On The Prize.

  12. From one human being to another- ” Thank- You, with all my heart”
I know you need more than are hearts so I will in earnest try and help financially. Currently my business is slow, and what the Jewish control radicals are drumming up will not be good for American enterprise nor Israel and Ofcourse not the Iranians.Best of Health and Fortunes to you and your family Regards,Mark Taylor- I fear for your SAFTEY, be overt!

  13. I basically said on my facebook page when I saw Nethanyahu in the US the same as you did. I was shocked at the enthusiasism he was greeted with. I admit it has completely turned me against the US. Seriously what is wrong with the world. We are going backwards in terms of civilisation. War is justified by the ruling countries whenever they want to take something. It is soul destroying seeing this. America is gone down the wrong road and they cannot even see it.

  14. Well said, Mikko. As Chris mention in his message…world is going backwards because powerful countries of the West are leading them in the wrong direction.. It comes down to how we define “civilized society.” It is time to redefine this terms from material based progress to include behavioral progress.

  15. Miko, I found you on YouTube last night by chance. Your content is fascinating and the credibility you bring with your family’s background make you someone you lots of people should hear.

I’m a conservative Christian Republican, by the way. We naturally sympathize with the Israelis, and no, we don’t want to convert them 🙂

But, I don’t think the current status quo is sustainable for the Israelis in the long term.

I hope it’s ok for a right winger to read your blog. You’ve opened my eyes to several good points, but I still think you’re WAY out there in many of your thoughts. I think comparing your book to the Green Prince book is useful. You can’t both be right. Or can you ?

  16. Netanyahu again selling Holocaust for financial gain. They have destroyed Iraq now they are trying to destroy Iran…seeing the behaviour of Israeli Govt they are the real cause of unpeacefull world. They are the begger in front of US n US is not justifying its leadership to the world. If US falls then its becoz of Isarel

  17. I only hope the rest of his US and European entourage also get put on trial for supporting terrorism. Did you read the latest from his foreign minister? Apparently he has an humane solution for Arab Israelis, have their heads chopped off if they’re disloyal to Israel. What a trivial character?!!! Maybe ISIS got his memo first, “birds of a feather flock together”.
Things will change, we will have peace in the Middle East and all around the world. These violent lunatics will not have support much longer.

  18. Mikko, as a man of similar age (and muslim persuasion), I am humbled by your courage – may we draw strength from your example.

I am acquainted with Palestinian suffering – corporate capitalist totalitarianism, the military-industrial-complex and the third sector have conspired to make it a ‘business’… not unlike Shoah business. It’s about profits from the exploitation of Palestinian suffering.

Time to mow the grass? They (Palestinians) are finished; look into their eyes as I have; and shed yet another tear.
